A gruelling walk, 20 miles from Whitby to Saltburn. The main problem was the hills: long and arduous climbs up onto the North Yorkshire Moors, coming down again into a valley, then up again. Loaded down with a backpack this is very hard work.
And all this was under a leaden sky and against a strong and largely unrelenting headwind that frequently carried rain with it as well just to make life interesting.
Yet despite the barriers, I made good time, met my target and I ended the day with my morale high.
The day ended even better when I arrived at the Windsor Guest House in Saltburn, a lovely B and B near the taken centre and the sea. It’s proprietors, Sue and Phil gave me a great welcome and wonderful hospitality, a nice room and a comfortable bed (AND dinner and breakfast!). I would like to thank Phil and Sue sincerely for their support a f generosity.
A link to the Windsor’s website will follow in a separate post.
Next stop Stockton on Tees!
PS Almost forgot: recorded a show for The Liberty Beacon, hosted by Roger Landry in the evening. The show should go out today.
